CPE Unit Enclosure

Artech Machine and Tool Ltd. a precision toolmaker had a client with a sample enclosure that they wanted to make from high density ploy ethylene. IMW was hired to create a core and cavity model for the creation of injection molulding dies.

Reverse engineering of the sample enclosure was not enough. An injection mould tool requires draft, an angled surface, to allow the part to release from the mould. All surfaces that contact the mould must be angled to allow release. We worked with the toolmaker to decide on a split line, (mould separation line), and ensure that there was draft on both halves of the split. From that point core and cavity models were created so the toolmaker could complete the die sets.
