Single Sided Motorcycle Swing Arm

IMW has worked closely with Goldammer Cycle Works Ltd. on many projects over the past 8 years. Below is an example of one of those collaborations. The project involved many aspects  including design, testing, development, building, and marketing of the product and its system.

Goldammer dictated the styling parameters that the mechanical system was to fit within. Many iterations were presented to our client until the styling goals were achieved. This is one of the many strengths of IMW is the ability to work with your organization to help achieve your organizations goals not just our own.

The swing arm detail is unique for a variety of reasons. One of the key differences was that it was constructed from three main chunks of billet aluminum. The largest piece starting life as a 75Lb. block. It was important that during the design procedure the machining parameters were included in the process as it was critical that the product were manufacturable in an efficient set of processes. The success of this can be measured in that the largest section of the main arm assembly was CNC machined in only two set-ups.
