Saw Guide Dresser (Patent Pending)

Internal Laser Systems Inc. required help designing and building a machine to precision size babbit pads on saw guides used in large sawmill operations.

Existing technology was fairly accurate but required a 4 min. cycle time.  Set-up on the existing machinery was slow and cumbersome. Spacers had to added or taken away to set the pad thicknesses and in most cases 2 or 3 machines were required to process the complete inventory of guides.

Our solution accurately sizes guides within .0005” in less than 30 sec. Set-ups require seconds to complete. Typical results have seen sawmills eliminate multiple machines and reduce labour from 2-3 shifts down to a part-time requirement.
